Preschool Administrator

About Us

Delaware Cooperative Preschool (DCP) is a play-based, child-centered cooperative preschool that fosters a warm and engaging learning environment for young children. As a cooperative, we emphasize family involvement, community, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Summary

DCP is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Preschool Administrator to oversee daily operations, manage administrative tasks, and support teachers, parents, and the board of directors. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a passion for early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Management:

    • Oversee daily preschool operations, including scheduling, record-keeping, and compliance with state licensing requirements. Maintain accurate records of children, employees, and staff.

  • Enrollment & Communication:

    • Manage student enrollment, maintain student records, and serve as the primary point of contact for families. Handle official school communications with the membership, staff, and community, including in cases of inclement weather or scheduling changes.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all state requirements for Parent Cooperative Childcare Centers. Serve as the primary contact for the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services and Asbury Church personnel. Complete all state forms and licensure requirements as necessary.

  • Financial Support:

    • Assist with budget management, tuition tracking, and processing invoices in collaboration with the treasurer. DCP will be responsible for payroll taxes, unemployment benefits, liability, and workers’ compensation insurance.

  • Board & Committee Support:

    • ​Work closely with the board of directors, attending meetings and providing administrative assistance. Support the Board regarding administrative issues and compliance with contractual duties.

  • Community Engagement & Marketing:

    • Foster positive relationships with parents, teachers, and community members. Lead tours and market the school to prospective families and staff.

  • Classroom & Staffing Support:

    • Act as a classroom substitute as needed and recruit/train/manage additional substitutes. Assist in coordinating and providing music or other enrichment activities with classroom teachers and the Education Committee. Support teaching staff in classroom management and adapt weekly schedules as required.

  • Facility & Supply Management:

    • Keep the office and supply closet secure, organized, and stocked.

  • Professional Development & Meetings:

    • Attend General Membership Meetings, Board of Directors meetings as needed, open houses, and orientations. Maintain necessary certifications to work as a preschool administrator in Ohio.

  • Extended Closure Duties:

    • Support virtual or modified class sessions and ongoing administrative responsibilities if an extended closure occurs.

Hours & Compensation
  • Compensation: From 15X per hour, paid monthly based on hours worked.

  • School Year (Sept 8, 2024 – May 15, 2025): 12-20 hours per week for 32 weeks.
